I tiptoed out and there she was - lying next to her mom, all dried off and curled up against the cold. I held my breath until I saw her move - a healthy ewe lamb, getting ready to stand up. Got her in the jug, sweater on, a shot of Nutri-Drench, and a belly full of colostrum from mom. It's like playing with baby dolls! I got mom fed and a bucket of warm molasses water, and I was free to cuddle for a while. I can't think of a sweeter place to be - in the jug with a healthy newborn lamb on a Saturday morning. What bliss.
