Positive Vibes

This is the big day for my little Pupkie, aka Mia, who, at this very moment, is taking her NCLEX, the nursing board exam that, if she passes, will allow her to start the job she has already been hired to do. The hospital is waiting for her score. Now this girl has been studying for weeks, ever since school was over in May, and she took a Stanley Kaplan review for nurses. (Most high school moms cringe at the memory of all those trips out late at night in bad weather taking our college bound kids to Stanley Kaplan classes). It's been a long hard challenging road for Mia. She has had to work hard for this achievement - three college transfers, starting over in new majors, a year off to work as a nurse's aid in a bone marrow transplant unit to see if this career was really for her, finding and getting herself accepted to an accelerated post graduate nursing program, taking out loans - it goes on and on. So let's put our hearts and minds together and wish her well today. I will meditate on Mia's success while I pick hay out of my fleeces and imagine her on the stroke ward, working her magic with that big, wide beautiful smile and bringing her patients back to viability with those pretty little hands of hers.
