Shearing Day

My good buddy, Jim Baldwin, sheared about half my sheep and goats on Saturday. Mia and Andrew drove up from NJ to help out. It was Andrew's first shearing experience and he proved to be a terrific sheep wrangler. Mia and I did shots and hooves. I have a lot of lovely fluffy stuff to skirt, pick, wash, dye and dry. Once I combine the colors I want in the appropriate amounts I'll ship it out to the carding mill. They will bring it to me at Maryland Sheep and Wool, saving on shipping and giving me hot-off-the-carder Mother Fiber to put out for the spinning and felting fiber people.
