Hannah Joins the Civil Air Patrol

Hannah is having a great time in Texas with the Civil Air Patrol. CAP is a national organization that does search and rescue missions when pilots and others are down and missing. They are trained to search through rough terrain in all kinds of weather conditions. Eric was in the New Jersey CAP before he went to Virginia to attend the Virginia Military Institute. Young people can learn to fly and earn their pilot's license with the Civil Air Patrol. CAP began during WWII in New Jersey when civilians were organized to keep watch on the beaches for Nazi submarines lurking off shore. I'm very proud of Hannah and her humanitarian service work. She's learning all kinds of valuable skills that could possibly save lives someday. A mission conducted by all female Civil Air Patrol members is called an "Angel Mission." Can you imagine being trapped and hurt in a crashed airplane and seeing a platoon of lovely ladies suddenly swarming all over you? Heavenly!
