News of the Week
As I go about my chores here on the farm on this lovely, sunny and cool Sunday, I take a peek at the news every once in a while and am constantly amazed and baffled at what I see. Some random thoughts in no particular order.
1 - If you love the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob you must love and support Israel. You just have to. God wants Israel to be there, right where it is. Without our support there won't be any Israel, or Jewish people, and God wouldn't like that. Besides, if you saw the room in the kibbutz where the Palestians machine gunned Jewish babies in their cribs like I did, you might think twice about feeling sorry for them.
2 - The oil spill is wrong, wrong, wrong. What's a foreign company doing drilling off our coast anyway? Once the hole is plugged and after the Brits have cleaned it up and paid everybody's bills, get them the heck out of US waters. They've really screwed it all up, haven't they? It's like the War of 1812 all over again and this time they are not just burning down the White House, they are ruining our beaches and killing our fish. George Bush's family has been in bed with Big Oil for years and years. The Bushes took us to Kuwait in Desert Storm to protect the Arab's oil which brought us 9-11 and is keeping us over there bogged down in a quagmire that will go on for years. Thanks Shrub Sr. and Shrub Jr.
3 - Somebody saw Joran Vander Murderer in the Lima, Peru, casino and ran for security telling them "that guy's a killer you better watch him." They blew him off and look what happened. Another young woman dead. This time they have him on tape. Lock him up and throw away the key. Fortunately the killer's parents have no connections in Peru and this time there is a body. I keep thinking what if that was my Mia. Give me ten minutes with that low-life bastard!
Okay I'll shut up and get to cleaning up this apartment. Then I'll make some soap and sew some bags. Soap to wash away the sins of the world and bags to carry the load. Good things...
