This area is loaded with pretty little yellow finches. I was surprised to see them at my newly relocated bird feeders, right outside my window. There are several new local birds I am not familiar with, and need to get myself a field guide for Central New York. I was an obsessive birder several years back, but that was in New Jersey when I lived in a development. Leaving my birds was really tough, then I moved around so much I tried not to get attached to the local bird populations. Maybe I can start birding in earnest again without fear of having to leave them behind.
