Boys On the Side
My boys have terrific wool and don't give me any trouble. No lambing problems, no grain needed. Unfortunately, Matt sees them as lamb chops, rack o' lamb, lamb stew, etc. He doesn't think they earn their keep, but I know differently. Lambs don't bring in a lot of money. If you truck them down to NJ to the "ethnic market" you might get $80 dollars, but around here, forget about it! If I turn their wool into roving I can get $30 a pound. A five pound fleece, conservatively, can get $150 a year! I love my boys - and they never swear or leave their underwear on the floor!
