We had much more snow this time last year. There was a good start on the 12 feet we were to get over the winter. Snow is not a bad thing for sheep. They love to eat it, as if it were a giant snow cone that fell from the sky for them to enjoy. Snow, as cold as it is, does not chill animals like an icy rain. The drifts keep them close to the barn and I don't have to worry about any escapees over the winter. Goats do not like to eat snow, but if there is no other water source they will lick it. I still put out water to make sure everybody has enough.
