I thought I better make some candles to get ready for hurricane season. The power hardly ever goes out around here, much less than New Jersey, but I like to be ready. I enjoy making these soy wax candles, which comes from American grown soy beans and are smokeless and harmless to living creatures. They are so easy to make in whatever jars I can find around the barn. I traded some wool for candle scents, but they hardly throw any smell and are useless in my opinion. Beeswax has a lovely natural scent with no additives necessary. I buy bricks from Mahlon Palmer, a local beekeeper near me at the farmer's market. Reminder to see him on Saturday.
