Why do I call my roving Mother Fiber? Because WOOL is the Mother of All Fibers! Exotics come and go...but wool is the skeleton on which they all hang. Quiviut, cashmere, alpaca, guanaco, whatever the exotic it works up and wears better if it is blended with wool. My rovings are mainly Bluefaced Leicester and Bluefaced Leicester cross blended with mohair, angora and sometimes alpaca.
The roving I offer here is $30 a pound, plus shipping. It felts easily and spins into a soft novelty yarn with "surprises" here and there - slubs of angora and alpaca.
