Apples!

The apples are still coming, sweet and juicy. Rosanna showed me a machine in an Amish catalogue that can process apples - skins, seeds and all - into applesauce. I don't know if I can order it in time for this harvest, but it sure would be great to have. In the meantime, the sheep and goats are taking advantage of the goodies falling from the sky.

I am Catching up on your blog. Loved reading how Knute controls the coyotes, and how you brought cabbage and "defrosting pork" into your classes - what a great heart you have. The photos of the Apple Trees are amazing.....I know you have a very difficult schedule (to say the least) but I have to say that I am often jealous of what I see and read here! Farming and Teaching are such a charming combination when placed into the right hands; my hat is off to you. Maggie, I have been trying to find the Amish Apple Saucing Machine that you mentioned - please send me a link.
Regards,
Dan
