Colorscape 2011

Colorscape was fantastic, despite a weather scare today that had patrons running for their cars and vendors battening down the hatches. An announcement was made from the bandstand that a "fast moving dangerous weather system" was approaching. A customer stuck his smart phone in my face with a technicolor picture of the storm. Oh, wonderful, I thought and put my wool in plastic bags. Customers were still coming in the booth so I didn't want to close up completely. It rained a bit but no thunder and lightning, and the sun came back out. I got a lot of spinning done, and was visited by the famous Norm Hall, who creates the fabulous Norm Hall wheels in Oxford. Norm is a volunteer at Colorscape and such a down-to-earth, friendly guy. You'd never know there is a seven year wait for his classy wheel which has a $5,000 price tag. Luckily, Edy the Potter wanted more of my soap, enabling me to come home with a lovely, oven-safe platter. I can't imagine roasting a chicken on this fine piece of pottery but Edy says to go ahead. I taught a cute little girl named Maryn to spin, and got a bit of spinning done myself. Soap and creme sales were brisk, and I sold another four Bundaflicka bags today. The Colorscape music roster was unbelievably good, and I packed up to a blue-grass band that really rocked the park and made me pick up the pace. Home to chores and the sad realization that I'm going back to school tomorrow. I knew the fun couldn't last forever....
