The flowers that line the roads around Brookfield are stunning this year. I was worried because our very hard working, dedicated road department came by, scraping the shoulders and widening the culverts, which usually takes the flowers away. They did their work but something beautiful happened - thick lines of lovely white Queen Anne's Lace grew along the roads, with blue chickory flowers and pink Globe Amaranth. I went into the village to pick up my mail and had to stop along the way and admire the flowers (before the road department comes back.)
