Balmy Weather

We are having tee-shirt weather here in the Great North Land today. I asked the Ladies in Waiting if they would please squeeze their lambs out this weekend but they just looked at me and said Where's the Food? I pointed to the Smorgasbord going on in the East End barnyard. They are so lazy and cumbersome they would rather have square bales put right in front of them than wade through the mud. Don't blame them, really. Most of the crew is out enjoying the feast. The round bales are great if you have a place to store them and the right equipment to bring them out to the flock. You still need square bales for the sheep in lambing pens, chickens, rabbits, etc. I am so stingy with hay this year the sheep leap on the few square bales I put out and eat until they are gone - usually a few minutes. With round bales they can eat to their hearts content, without the big sheep pushing little sheep out of the way, etc.

Hey,

If you get any more balmy weather days, and if there's still food over on our fields, please let some go on over there! Maybe the Moms in waiting? Let them fill up on that before they end up in a jug for a few days. Just wanted to remind you of the saying, "the grass is greener on the other side of the fence"!
