Happy Fourth

Happy Fourth of July to all Americans, here and abroad. If you have a chance, thank a vet. I'm the proud mother of two soldiers. The John Adams marathon ran all night on HBO, reminding me how precarious our independence really was. Historians love to talk about what if....so, what if? If the revolution had failed, England might have lost their North American colonies to France? Or maybe there would have been another attempt at independence from Britain? The continent might have been divided among several European or Asian powers? And what about the Canadian territory? We could go on and on. The important thing is we are united under one flag. Let's celebrate our flag today and remember those who made it happen for us.
