Hannah Rides Tybaby

Hannah had another lesson today, on a more challenging horse called Tybaby. "Ty" is a Paint/Appaloosa mare and is simply gorgeous. Hannah met her last year when she was owned by some people in Vermont. The Vt. people decided to sell Ty to Barb Taylor and now she is a lesson horse. Hannah learned how to lunge Ty and did more riding on her own. There was another Hannah in the barn today, a young woman who teaches sometimes and rides Barb's horses in local shows. The two Hannahs posed with Ty and gave her a rub down before the lesson. The older Hannah told us a nice story - she attended a horse auction in New Berlin yesterday and thought she recognized a Belgian draft horse. It was the horse she grew up with and sold a couple of years ago. She made the purchaser promise to never sell "Ned" but the traitor turned around and sold him at auction almost immediately. Ned went through several auctions before he came to this one. Hannah found herself bidding against two slaughterhouses to get her childhood friend back. The trouble was that Ned was being sold as part of a team with another Belgian. Hannah's mother's boyfriend stepped forward and paid $2,000 for the pair just so Hannah could save Ned. It gave me chills to hear the story. Hannah was still so excited she could hardly contain herself. The "boys" will be coming to Barb's stable sometime soon. I can't wait to see the lucky duo!
