Hannah Has a Riding Lesson

We went to Barb Taylor's stable for a riding lesson today. Hannah was very patient while she reviewed everything she learned last year about tacking up and saddling up her mount. She rode Qudy ("cutie") a handsome quarter horse mare. Barb is very thorough and meticulous about teaching her students the RIGHT way to do everything about riding. Toes down, hands down and together, hold the whip this way, sit up, use your hips to push the horse forward - the list goes on and on. It was tough for Hannah to hold back and listen, but finally, the reward came at the end of the lesson when Hannah could trot around the ring a bit. We are going back on Sunday afternoon for another lesson, when Hannah might ride Tybaby, a Paint/Appaloosa mare who is drop dead gorgeous, and a little "quicker" than Qudy. Hannah is very excited - and so is her Omi!
